Ep.33 – “Bowie and the Bomb”
It’s another Sunday, and another new episode of the Philosophy Jerks. Join hosts Brian and Josh as they pay philosophical tribute to the late, great David Bowie. During an interview, Bowie had made two fascinating statements regarding humanity. 1) After God Is Dead was accepted in our culture, humans were left to create their own morality. From that, the best they could do (so claimed Bowie) was build the [atomic] bomb. and 2) Are humans mature enough to handle a universe without purpose and meaning? Brian and Josh decided to tackle both these notions. As well as these questions, the guys play six degrees of Kevin Bowie and look back on the immensity and diversity of David Bowie’s life. What was BowieNet? And what are Bowie Bonds? And why was it such a big deal that Bowie died at all? As well as paying tribute to David Bowie, Josh also hits on the Flint water crisis. And, of course, there is a new beer to review, and a very fun QnA session with the guys (Josh was on the better half of a little bit of a lot of scotch), some great David Bowie related music, and much more. So kick back, grab your favorite beer, and enjoy the newest episode of the Philosophy Jerks!
